London consumers have quickly acknowledged the benefits of Oyster in terms of faster, easier and cheaper travel and now associate the brand with innovation and the power to make their lives a little bit easier.

As for developments outside of the Capital, commuters in the know have been demanding the benefits of Oyster for many months:

  • 61% of commuters in to London are extremely/ very dissatisfied that Oyster is not valid on trains/ unavailable from stations
  • 68% of Oyster non-users state that they definitely/ probably would use Oyster when travelling by train

Wherever they come from, customers have high expectations for Oyster and what it could give them in the future. How they embrace the significant new developments, such as the Barclaycard OnePulse, which incorporates Oyster and a cashless payment function onto a credit card, will indicate how far we can take Oyster.
